Enthronement of the
new Abbess (Makrina)
in the Nativity of the Theotokos Monastery, Indiana

By the instruction of the Holy Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church, on January 8th and 9th, 2008, His Grace Bishop Longin made a visit to the Stavropegial Women's Monastery of the Nativity of the Thotokos, New Carlisle, Indiana, in order to install the new Abbess for the monastery. At the end of the Divine Liturgy on the 9th of January, Mother Makrina was enthroned as the new Abbess.
Mother Makrina brings with her the experience of living in a coenobitic monastery of Zupa in Montenegro, and we trust that the sisterhood of the monastery of the Nativity of the Theotokos will continue to thrive and grow under her spiritual direction.
