July 12th, 2009 - His Grace, Bishop Longin, served Divine Liturgy for the first time at the Parish of Saints Peter and Paul in South Bend, IN. Metropolitan Christopher was the presiding concelebrant at the Slava and gave a festal sermon. After Divine Liturgy and the procession around the church, the Slava Kolach was cut at the parish hall, followed by a banquet. All the speakers accented the importance of unity and of the reorganization of the dioceses of our Church on this continent. It was especially joyful at the Slava to see the faithful who had thus far belonged to the former New Gracanica Metropolitanate.
The president of the parish community, Mr. Milan Medic, Kolo of Serbian Sisters, the choir, and all the members of this wonderful community showed true Christian hospitality to all the guests.
